Nursery
The year of a hundred questions, and a great deal more talking.
The year in essence
Three-year-olds want to know everything and tell you everything, so nursery is built around talking, listening and doing. Children pour their own water, put on their own shoes, look after their own things. They paint, they act out little stories, they hear books read aloud again and again. Their words and their confidence grow together, which is exactly how it should happen at this age.

What this year builds
Three pillars of Nursery
Talking all day
Conversation, stories and songs run right through the morning, in English and alongside the languages children speak at home.
Doing it themselves
Pouring, buttoning, tidying up, choosing what to do next. Small bits of independence add up to quiet confidence.
First marks on paper
Crayons, brushes, fingers, clay. We treat the road to writing as art for now, not drills.
